RPC Youthies announce three new hires.
Redeemer is pleased to announce three new hires in the RPC Youth Ministry.
Catherine Clark will join Redeemer as Girls’ Discipleship Coordinator for the Youthies; James Boswell will be the full time Youth Intern; and Mercy Jackson will serve as Summer Intern. All three will join the RPC staff on June 1st.
Julianne Atkinson, who has served on the Youth Staff since 2018, and her husband, Spencer, will move to New York this summer. Julianne’s last day on the staff will be May 31st.
RPC Assistant Pastor of Youth and Children’s Ministries Matthew Beham expressed thanksgiving for Julianne and her work with the Youthies.
“Julianne has been such a blessing to our girls,” he says. “She is so good at giving counsel and asking questions and bringing out the Gospel. She’s been such a help in teaching our students. We’re really going to miss her.”
Catherine, James and Mercy will join RPC’s new Director of Youth Ministry Oscar Palin, who will begin his role April 26th, taking over the daily management of the Youth program from Pastor Beham, who is taking on new responsibilities related to Sunday worship services during RPC’s senior pastor transition.
“I’m so excited that with these hires we will have three full-time staff members and a summer intern 100 percent dedicated to our students,” Beham says. “I am very confident about the future of our youth ministry with this team.”
Catherine Clark is a native of Aberdeen, North Carolina and graduated from East Carolina University in 2018. She is currently an intern with Reformed University Fellowship at Western Kentucky University and has served in children’s and youth ministry in multiple churches.
“I am already so encouraged and excited about the welcoming community of Redeemer,” she says. “The amount of time, resources and energy that this church pours into the children and youth programs brings me so much joy, and I am honored to be able to be a part of it.”
James Boswell is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and will graduate from the University of Texas in May. Through a fall conference hosted by RUF, he began to feel a pull toward ministry.
“Once I got home, I realized that the things I wanted to learn about and talk about were things we had discussed at the conference,” he says. “This opportunity is the next step to serve the Lord and discern his path for me.”
Mercy Jackson is a native of Dallas, Texas and is a sophomore at Texas A&M University, where she is a member of the leadership team at RUF.
“My service with RUF’s leadership team has looked like reaching out to new students – freshman, transfer students, and people new to RUF, forming relationships within RUF, leading a Bible study and working with the rest of the leadership team to brainstorm how we can serve the ministry and the kingdom,” she says. “I am very excited to come and serve with Redeemer’s youth this summer.”
Please join us in welcoming Catherine, James and Mercy to Redeemer and encourage them as they begin their work here!
