2021 Lenten Season Resources

The Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. Lent is a season in the church calendar traditionally marked by a 40-day period of preparation leading up to Easter Sunday. To equip your family to enter into the season of Lent, RPC Children's Ministries has created resources including a Lenten Family Devotional, Lenten Worship Music Video, and a Lenten Songbook. The devotional provides Scripture readings, reflections and simple illustrations for each day of Lent starting with Ash Wednesday. Click the links below to download and share these resources!

We also recommend to you the book The Garden, The Curtain and The Cross by Carl Laferton, which is available for purchase in the church foyer. To help your family follow along with and learn songs in the Lenten Songbook, we include this video from Training in the Pews music volunteers, Joe and Liz Gonzales. Starting in March, we will also have a series of videos leading up to Holy Week in the Teach me to Worship series on this page. Stay tuned!

This fall, we are expanding what we offer to families online. Each week, we will release a Children’s Worship Video on this page. Using this video, your child will be able to sing along with songs led by members of our church, learn their New City Catechism question, work on Scripture memory, and hear a lesson from the Bible.

Families can play the Children’s Worship Video after church on Sunday, while you are making dinner, or as a bedtime ritual; as often as you like!

The videos will provide a good starting point for families to continue using the Teach Me To Worship curriculum as a family worship resource for children up to fifth grade. Teach Me to Worship presents and explains common elements of worship that the universal church has used throughout the ages, emphasizing the centrality of Christ and of God's word.

* Redeemer has special permission from CDM, the Committee on Discipleship Ministries, to make these materials available to Redeemer families only. You may download the lessons for your family's use, but please do not share them online.
