Shepherding Ministry

The Shepherding ministry of Redeemer is fundamentally relational and occurs in the context of meaningful and helpful bonds formed between the members of our community. We hope to foster these kinds of relationships through a wide array of small group ministries (Community Groups, Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies, Spiritual Formation Classes). If you have not yet connected to one or more of these small groups, please visit the Discipleship section of our website!

Even so, Redeemer seeks to actively share the love of Christ with her members who need practical, emotional and spiritual support. Life includes seasons of pain, loss, sickness and crisis when the comfort and care of others is essential. Whether you are in need of meals, prayer, encouragement, counseling or pastoral advice, Redeemer is here to walk with you.

Shepherding Groups

A Shepherding Group consists of two, three or four Community Groups joined under the oversight of one or more Redeemer Ruling Elder(s). As Shepherds, ruling elders want to help members experience a personal connection in the church and encourage participation in Redeemer’s overall program of discipleship. Shepherding Group leaders have primary responsibility for visitation during hospitalizations or the death of a loved one, and guidance during times of crisis. Read more about Shepherding groups HERE.

Prayer Requests
We are called to be people of prayer.  Redeemer wants to encourage you to pray regularly and fervantly and understand the importance of allowing others to pray for you.  We care about you and want to pray with you, and we encourage you to email prayer requests to RPC Assistant Pastor of Congregational Care Bryant McGee. We welcome all of your prayer requests.
Praying together builds community, brings amazing strength and peace, and creates a greater dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us join with you in prayer to our sovereign Lord.

Meals Ministry
This ministry provides meals to church families in need due to a new baby, a hospitalization, or a family emergency.  Volunteers sign-up to deliver a meal (whether homemade or store-bought) to a member in need. If you need a meal or would like to deliver a meal, contact Lori Dante, lori@redeemersa.org.

Healing from Sexual Brokeness Groups
Redeemer offers men and women’s sexual recovery groups. These groups are led with the purpose of engaging various aspects of sexual brokenness. If you are looking for new hope in your struggles with pornography, sexual abuse, promiscuous relationships, same-sex attraction, or abortions – whether current struggles or the continuing feelings from past experiences – then these groups can be a ministry of God’s grace to you.

More information on Redeemer's sexual recovery groups can be found HERE. Additionally, Redeemer has set up a confidential email account to communicate your desire for help – recovery@redeemersa.org.

Financial Aid/Counseling
The Deacons and Deacon Assistants of Redeemer are specially trained to shepherd families and members who are in emotional and financial distress due to family crises, unemployment or underemployment. If you would like to speak with a Deacon or Deacon Assistant about how Redeemer might help, please contact Jeff Brouillard.

Hospital Visits
If you or a member of your family becomes hospitalized, we want to care for you. Please call the church office so that somebody can come and pray for you. Your Community Group leaders and Shepherding Group leader are also good points of contact.

Bereavement
If a loved one passes away, we want to know and offer you comfort and care when you are grieving. Please call the church office if you need assistance in planning a funeral.

Pre-Marital Counseling
We offer pre-marital counseling services for members. Please contact the church office to schedule an appointment with a pastor. To learn more about Redeemer's wedding policies or to inquire about a wedding at Redeemer click here.

Counseling
There are many reasons and seasons when counseling can play a helpful role in growing in grace. If you are interesting in learning more about the counseling process or are looking for counselor recommendations, please contact the church office (930-4480) to have a discussion with a pastor.

Infertility Support
If you and your spouse are struggling with infertility, you may feel very alone in your pain.  But you are not alone.  If you would like to share a prayer request, inquire about resources, or simply talk with someone who understands, please contact the church office (930-4480) to speak with a pastor.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
