Building Update - Feb 26

Rainy days are great for drought-stricken South Texas, but not so good for a building project. The major work happening right now is pouring the piers to develop the foundation for the new Entry into the building. Rain has slowed this process somewhat. But, over the next two weeks, you should be able to watch the steel structure being erected as you drive by the property. With so much work happening only on the inside until now, it will feel gratifying to watch more exterior work on the Entry and site progress.

Preparing for Redeemer’s transition to its new downtown facility has served to remind me of what has been so foundational to our growth—Kingdom-minded prayer! Prayer is one of the bedrock commitments of a vibrant, growing church. This is clearly seen when we consider the early church who gathered regularly and often for prayer (Acts 1:14; 2:42; 6:2-4).

Building Update - Feb 5

It feels as though we have turned a corner on the project. The upstairs is looking great. The offices and nursery are sheetrocked and have been given a first coat of primer paint. The sanctuary ceiling has sheetrock and lights and is now awaiting the final wood finishes. The more delicate features of the sanctuary such as the arch and new windows are progressing well. Much of the air conditioning has being put in place and they hope to have it functional before the weather turns toward summer...which could be tomorrow for all we know.
