Lent can offer parents a rich opportunity to bring the Gospel home to our children’s hearts. My kids love and look forward to Christian holidays, but this year I realized that although they are familiar with the rhythms of the church calendar, sometimes I am taking for granted that they fully grasp the deeper meanings of the seasons. Mentors Needed

In 2017, Redeemer embarked on a new ministry partnership with San Antonio non-profit Communities in Schools to connect male mentors from our congregation with young men in San Antonio’s public high schools who are at risk of dropping out before completing their high school degree. Seven men from Redeemer have been part of the program this school year, primarily mentoring students at Lanier High School, less than two miles from Redeemer.

This year, we celebrate Redeemer’s 15th anniversary of ministry. It is remarkable to look back and reflect on all the ways God has shown His faithfulness to us. From our small beginning as a home-based Bible Study of ten families in 2002, we have grown into a congregation of more than 800 members with a permanent home in the heart of Downtown San Antonio.
