2019 Ministry Report

Dear Redeemer Members and Friends,
Today Redeemer celebrates 17 years of worshipping together as a congregation!
From the beginning, Redeemer’s vision was to be a church serving not only our members, but an anchor church providing resources, training and support to other churches and ministry partners. We want to make room for more and more people to be brought into the Kingdom of God through church planting, missions and campus ministry in San Antonio, South Texas and Latin America.
In 2019, God opened many new doors for that mission. Redeemer launched a long-envisioned church planting network, Reach South Texas, a key part of our strategy to preach the Gospel to a new generation of people in South Texas and raise up Hispanic church leaders in our region. We participated in The Bus Station Project led by the Interfaith Welcome Commission, building relationships with leaders in our city and allowing our members to serve and pray for migrant families traveling through the downtown bus station. We grew in our partnership with Isaiah 55 Ministries, sending multiple teams to Reynosa, Mexico to conduct medical clinics at their facility and in a migrant shelter on the border.
And there is much more on the horizon! I recently returned from Monterrey, Mexico, where Redeemer is deepening partnerships with the Centro Para La Plantación De Iglesias (CPI) Church Planting Network and City to City Latin America, opening up exciting new opportunities.
As a member at Redeemer, you are part of all of this, and I want to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and engage with our mission in the year ahead. Serve with our ministry partners. Volunteer within the church. Go on a mission trip. Invite your neighbors to worship with you on Sunday. Make room.
Happy anniversary, Redeemer!
