2022 End of Year Giving Update
Dear Members and Friends,
What a tremendous blessing our 2022 ministry year has been! Throughout our pastoral transition season, the elders, deacons, staff, and ministry leaders have worked diligently to remain focused on Redeemer's mission, vision, and core values. We have experienced incredible growth in new members, our programs are strong, and our Spanish-speaking ministry is growing beautifully! In the face of global financial uncertainty, we have maintained our commitment to supporting missions in San Antonio and across the globe, especially for our partners in Ukraine. Within our church, each of you helped continue our priority of warmth and hospitality, extending the vibrancy of Gospel welcome to our guests. Thank you.
As if that wasn't enough, our Pulpit Committee recommended a shared pastoral leadership model through a new Lead Pastor, Rev. Paul Hahn, and elevating Rev. Matt Beham as Co-Lead Pastor. Praise be to God! It is a blessing to look back and remember all of the ways God has shown Himself faithful over the past year, and we have much to be thankful for.
Yet our work is not done. As we enter a new season of Gospel ministry, we must joyfully and humbly seek to follow the Lord, resting in His abundant grace yet laboring together to fulfill our mission and vision. And we'll have a party! Preparations are underway to celebrate Redeemer's 20th anniversary in conjunction with Paul Hanh's installation as our Lead Pastor in February 2023. What a wonderful picture: Celebrating our rich history, especially the legacy of our beloved founding pastor, Tom Gibbs, while praising God for the abundant provision of shared pastoral leadership for our next chapter of ministry together.
May these blessings remind us that God alone is our help and is renewing all things to Himself in Jesus Christ. Amidst the transition of our founding pastor and cultural winds blowing around us, Redeemer continues. As the Apostle Paul writes to the church in Philippi:
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now. – Philippians 1:3-5
God is at work in and through the people of our church, her leaders, staff, and congregation, and you play an essential role in this story of grace. Your consistent generosity, sacrificial participation, and joyful engagement have been vital to Redeemer's success.
As we head toward the end of the year, let us praise God for His provision to Redeemer's financial strength. We have already received $1,851,724 in tithes and offerings, which is behind last year's giving. As is expected at this time of year, there remains a significant gap to be addressed if Redeemer will meet its annual budget. The Session anticipates needing just over $1,000,000 in additional tithes and offerings before December 31.
Your giving has enabled our church to meet or exceed our budgeted goals for many years, and we hope to do the same this year. Achieving our goal creates meaningful ministry opportunities, allowing Redeemer to contribute more to our ministry and mission partners and address our operational and strategic priorities locally and globally.
The Session asks you to sacrificially and prayerfully consider what your year-end giving will be, ensuring that Redeemer meets or exceeds all our ministry priorities. You can make your gifts today in the Redeemer SA mobile app, at www.redeemersa.org/Give, or by mailing a check to the church office: 903 North Saint Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX 78215.
Again, thank you for your faithful participation. Our future has never been more exciting!
