While you were relaxing over the Christmas holidays, there was lots of activity at the building.  I’ll focus on three areas.  On the first floor, electricians have been running wire and the sheetrock is going up.  The Offices and Nursery are starting to take shape.  You can see some of this…along with lots of dust (the quality of pictures leaves a little to be desired).  In the basement, the demolition crew has almost completed removing every vestige of the old YMCA.  You can see across the entire basement now and only a few piles of debris remain.  In fact, the electricians and plumbers have begun working to construct the new bathrooms that will service the downstairs.  In the Sanctuary, the ceiling has been completely framed.  HVAC, lighting, and audio/visual equipment is currently being placed and the entire room will begin to get sheetrock and beautiful wood accents in the coming few weeks.  If you drive by in the next week or two, you will notice some of the work move from inside to outside.  The current entryway will be demolished and a new foundation will be built for a new Entry that will be the primary point of welcome and entry from the parking lot.  Pray for good weather and no surprises as this new phase gets underway.  And continue to pray that God would provide safety for the workers.
