September Pulpit Committee Update.
Redeemer members and friends,
We hope you had an enjoyable end of summer and are excited about Redeemer’s programming for the fall. Since our last update in July, we have continued to work with our search consultant, McGowan Global Institute, to curate a list of highly-qualified, interested candidates. We have conducted numerous first-round interviews and have more coming up soon. Through those interviews, we have eliminated a few candidates and are excited to advance a few to the next stage of evaluation. We expect that number to grow in the coming weeks as we have received additional qualified candidates in the pipeline and will continue to receive more.
As such, the work of the Pulpit Committee is ramping up quickly. Working in subgroups, the committee will examine the resumes, data forms, sermons, and writing of advanced candidates while we continue to conduct first-round interviews. This will be time-consuming work that requires wisdom and discernment for us as individuals and as a committee. Please pray that God would give us both in abundance.
While we are encouraged and excited about the quality of our candidate pipeline and the work we have ahead of us, we ask for faith, patience, and prayer for all of the Redeemer community.
Please pray that the Lord would give us faith to know that He, not us, is in control of this process and is leading us to our Senior Pastor. This process will take many more months as it needs to be very thorough, so please pray that God would give us all patience for His timing. Thank you for being faithful in prayer for Redeemer and the man the Lord will call to be our Senior Pastor.
"O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear." -Psalm 10:17
The grace of our Lord be with you!
