Update from the RPC Pulpit Committee

June 21 2022

Redeemer members and friends,

Happy summer!  We wanted to provide a quick update on our ongoing Senior Pastor search.  First, we’d like to give thanks to our God who has been exactly as he says he is—faithful.  This past Sunday marked one year since our founding pastor Tom Gibbs’ last day in the pulpit. As we look back on this year, we are deeply thankful for how God has faithfully provided for Redeemer every step of the way. This has been a year of returning more and more to our normal rhythms of ministry. We were able to relaunch our full children’s ministry program last fall, and just wrapped up a big week of Vacation Bible School for our kids. In February we hosted one of the best attended culture conferences in Redeemer’s history, and in May we held our first Redeemer Serves the City event in three years. We have had two healthy new membership classes already this year, and Redeemer continues to grow.

From day one of our search process, our consultants at McGowan Global Institute prepared us for an average senior pastor search of 1-2 years. The process of researching candidates, coordinating interviews and schedules, and pre-and post-interview meetings takes a lot of time.  Fortunately, our committee has been unified throughout this process, and we have been encouraged in recent developments.

As we continue to move forward in the process, it still requires trust and patience for all of us!  Our prayer is that we remember that the great High Priest has ordained this time for Redeemer.  He reigns from his throne in Heaven, but He is also here with us in the trenches. May we use this time to walk with and glorify Him!

In His Hands,

The Pulpit Committee
