Worship Service Sign-Up Starts Soon
Greetings, Redeemer! I am looking forward to our return to in-person worship services on September 6th and I hope you are, too.
As I mentioned in my last letter, we will be hosting Sunday services at 9:30 and 11 a.m., with each service capped at roughly 40 percent of our sanctuary capacity. To maintain that attendance cap, we will be asking you to RSVP for the service you plan to attend each week. Our first round of worship service sign-ups will start this upcoming Monday, August 31st. Here are some important details about how that process will work.
Worship service sign up forms for the week will go live at 5 p.m. each Monday on the Redeemer Events Sign Up Page. We will email you the link in our 5 p.m. Monday email, This Week at Redeemer, as well, but you can always find the current link at www.redeemersa.org/SignUp.
Please fill out the form completely, accounting for each seat you will need in the sanctuary. If you are planning to bring guests with you to Redeemer on a Sunday, please count their seats into your reservation or have them register themselves. It is always of vital importance to us to welcome visitors, so please extend invitations to neighbors, friends and family just as you always would.
Each service will be capped at 180 attenders, approximately 40 percent of our sanctuary capacity. When a service has reached capacity, the registration form for that service will close, and you will need to sign up for the remaining service. If after registering for a service you need to change your plans, please let us know by emailing Assistant Pastor Brad Tubbesing so we can count your seat back into our overall availability.
During the registration process, you will also have the opportunity to reserve a spot for a child in the nursery. We are excited to be reopening the Redeemer Nursery, and we hope this will enable some of our families with younger children to more easily join us for worship if they wish to do so. There are some significant changes to our nursery process we want to make you aware of so that you can prepare if you plan to check a child into the Nursery.
- The Redeemer Nursery will be limited to 18 children per service.
- Children will be checked in at the computer station outside the nursery doors. Volunteers will assist with check in, taking the temperature of each child and parent. If the temperature of either family member is above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, or either family member is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, the child may not attend nursery and the family will be asked to leave the building for the safety of our congregation.
- Children will be carried or escorted into the nursery by a volunteer. Parents will not be allowed past the nursery doors.
- We ask that only one parent bring children to the check in station. If a line forms, please stand on the blue markers on the floor to help you maintain social distance between yourself and others while you wait.
- No diaper bags, children’s backpacks, toys or blankets will be allowed in the nursery. Parents may leave pre-prepared bottles for infants in labeled Ziploc bags.
- Nursing mothers may use the Nursing Mothers Room inside the Nursery. A limit of two mothers at a time will be allowed in the room. If you need to use this room, a volunteer will take your temperature and your baby’s temperature at the nursery check in station.
- With the exception of nursing mothers, parents are not allowed to enter the Nursery. A volunteer will be present at all times to assist you if you need to pick up your child during the service.
- Parents should return to the foyer outside the nursery doors promptly following the end of the service and use the blue floor markers to maintain social distance while waiting in line to check children out of the nursery.
If you plan to join us, we recommend you visit the Redeemer Nursery page to acquaint yourself with our full check in and check out process and to read more about our precautions inside the nursery. We also encourage you to read our Guide for Returning to Worship, which covers important information about how we are conducting worship services during this time. One key reminder: Every worshipper over the age of ten is required to wear a mask at all times while in the building.
As always, we ask that you remain at home if you or anyone in your household are exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19, including fever or chills, cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, headaches and new loss of taste or smell.
We are excited to be returning to in-person worship. Whether you will join us in person or via the 11 a.m. Sunday livestream, please be in prayer for this process and for this season of ministry at Redeemer. Though we are moving into the fall under unusual circumstances, we are confident that God’s grace and wisdom are sufficient to lead us forward.
