Rev. Dr. Tom Gibbs
With all of the excitement about Redeemer’s upcoming transition, it is important that we not overlook this year’s slate of officer candidates, who will be voted on at a congregational meeting on June 1st following the 10:45 a.m. worship service. On May 1st, the Session announced to the congregation that John Browning, Jason Smith, Winston Meeker and Henry Sauer are candidates to serve on the Session as ruling elders. Having already served in this capacity, John Browning and Jason Smith are eligible to return to the Session. Jason Smith ...

There is lots to report from the work on the building. Remember that the Building Wishlist Shower will be hosted this Sunday afternoon at Erin Chase's home.  Please take a moment to check out the wishlist and buy a few things to fill the building.  Also, consider sending this link to friends and family who might also like to contribute. Despite the fact that much of the city has shut down for Easter and Fiesta, the work at our building continues to move steadily along.  We have seen very few delays in the last few weeks and it shows. ...

Connection Points: Loyalty

Rev. Matt Beham
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! No one ...

Connection Points: Hypocrisy

March 28, 2014
Rev. Matt Beham
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them…  When you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others...  And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites.  For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others...  And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fast may be seen by others......

Work on the building is coming along nicely. In the Sanctuary, the wood wing walls are being built and look beautiful. The stage has been constructed and will receive its final flooring soon. I’ve also attached a few pictures of the cross that will hang under the arch being constructed.  It looks incredible. Additionally, the final sheetrock and detail work in the Sanctuary is being finished so that they can sand and stain the floor. On Friday of this week, they will pour concrete into the basement to cover the pool and the new stairwell....

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 ...

Hi Friends, One of the questions I often receive is how folks can be involved with the building project.  So, I’m excited to share one practical way that you can connect.  Our staff has developed an online Wishlist.  Our building funds are helping us furnish the building with everything we’ll need for effective ministry.  But, those funds are limited and we’ve been careful to spend them on the items of highest priority.  So, we decided to give you the opportunity to fund specific things that are important to you. You can ...

Work on the facility is moving along at a nice pace.  Every week, there are substantial changes happening.  As you can see from the photos, much of the upstairs has a first coat of paint, completed HVAC, and electical work.  Cabinets and other detailed millwork are being installed.  Those areas will sit now, waiting for the remainder of the building to catch-up.  In the final weeks, they will receive fresh paint, carpet, and other finishes.  In the Sancuary, the stage is almost complete which means they will finish the dropped side wood ...
